The more spoilers I hear about the new Doctor Who companion Clara the more cringeworthy awful the character sounds.
Here's the latest- get this, in 1892 London she's both a bar maid and a governess- working both jobs at the same time. Uh no. No family in 1892 London would have allowed a bar maid anywhere near their children. No woman working as a governess would have ever even approached an establishment like that, much less worked there.
Seriously, where is the Doctor Who staff minds? Guess that's why the BBC has only green lit 10 episodes for series 8. They must already have a feeling Clara is going to tank as a companion- now the constant hyping they've done of Clara since March- six months before Amy and Rory even left (eyeroll) takes on the color of desperation.
Instead of shoehorning this Clara character in oh so awkwardly, and on top of that trying to push a romantic angle by making her a doctor groupie who pushes the Doctor into making her his companion, all while he's married to River Song- who will make possibly two more episode appearances this season. Considering the way part 1 of series 7 ended, Clara just looks like a very crass move to draw in the 20 something male viewers and very poor writing as well. It would have been better served to have the Doctor's descent into what he is at the start of the Christmas special last most of the rest of the season and had River and his friends (Madame Vastra, Jenny, Strax) trying to bring him around, maybe had a series of one episode companions who walk away for various reasons, male and female, and no Doctor Groupie type.

People who troll in other ships fanart comments
This happened in Doctor Who fandom but it applies in general to any fandom.
If you don't want to read pro River/Doctor comments happily talking about show canon information under River/Doctor fanart, don't read the comments. It's that simple. It's very childish and arrogant to throw temper tantrums about pro River/Doctor comments under River/Doctor fanart. You don't like the ship I suggest not reading the comments.
I have no interest in the other Doctor ships (except mildly Romana/4th Doctor). I don't go to fanart about those other ships and troll arrogantly and childishly complaining about pro comments about those ships. I expect the sam
Ninja- the real historical and in Naruto
It's interesting in Naruto how Kishimoto uses the actual historical ninja culture. The stereotypical ninja image comes from Japanese fiction written over 100 years after ninja villages were either wiped out or forced into the samurai class. The real historical ninja were literate, educated, armed, semi-independent peasant villages.
Yes there were real ninja villages, they also elected their leadership council from the elite members of the clans, and that leadership in turn elected the village leader. They were very (emphasis on very) loosely allied to various Daimyo. The Koga and Iga villages are the best known of the historical ninja villag

Happy 20th anniversary to me! Heh
Of regularly writing fanfic, that is! Heh.
Just realized it was right around this time in 1993 (some time in late February) That I started writing "Dreams and Desires" (My now oh so ancient Gambit and Rogue fanfic)
If you go back (pun- wait for it) about 9 more years, that's when I wrote my first fanfic- a story taking place with two elf characters of my own creation set in the Pini's Elfquest world (told you there was a pun ;)
Amazing, it's been 20 years since I decided to regularly write fanfic. How time flies when you're having fun- and writing fanfic is not only a good way to build your skills as a writer (I don't care what some snobby
